Boy the GTS packs a bite, and none of the BTAC actually lack in proof that much is for sure. If you like real whiskey and not the watered down standard stuff that's being mass produced and somehow allocated these days then spending a little extra for the good stuff sure is worth it.

Tasting Notes

Nose

ER17: Complex aromas of toffee, hints of orange peel, herbs, honey, leather and oak. GTS: Cigar tobacco, espresso, smoke, char, vanilla, cherry, cinnamon, and oak. THH: Powerful, lush, and boldly spicy. S18: Toffee apple, chargrilled corn-on-the-cob, molasses, crushed mint leaves WLW: Cocoa, toffee, steamed condensed milk (thinking of Cuban coffee), vanilla, hint of clove and honey

Taste

ER17: Bold, dry, oaky flavors with notes of candied almonds and very rich cocoa. GTS: Notes of char, tobacco, caramel, and vanilla are present. The second sip erupts with toffee, smoke, and dark chocolate notes. THH: Flavors of toffee, fig cake, and candied fruit S18: Toasty/burnt bready cereal and backed apple with cinnamon WLW: Warm, chewy toffee sweetness; mincemeat pie

Finish

ER17: Dry and lingering. GTS: Notes of smoke, oak, and char are initially present. These favors progress into cinnamon and dark roast coffee. THH: subtle notes of allspice, coconut and nutmeg S18: Cinnamon and black pepper spice with maple syrup coated nuttiness. WLW: Quite long, with a bit more spice and a bit of a bite at the end
